Both cars passed scruteneering

Another major step was taken yesterday in SNORAS Spyker Squadron’s road to Le Mans. Early in the morning both cars were transported by truck to the ‘Place des Jacobins’, downtown Le Mans, for the official ACO scruteneering. A large crowd gathered in the historical city centre to watch the administrative and technical checks from close distance.

The cars and team were welcomed with a big applause and many spectators, but also the ACO, referred to the football match the Dutch won from the Italians the night before. After a series of checks; ride hight, dimensions, electronics, the leader lights, both cars were released after 45 minutes and the final word was given by the ACO’s technical commission: both cars passed the checks and are invited to enter qualifying tonight.

Two qualifying of the four qualifying sessions are scheduled for today. The first two-hour session starts at 19:00 followed by a one-hour brake. In the second session, which starts at 21:00 and will be partly run in dark conditions. In this session all drivers need to complete three full laps to be eligible to compete in the race this Saturday.

The start of the 24 Hour race will be given from space this year. The residents of the International Orbiting Station will wave the French flag at 15:00 from 400 kms above the track.
